Driverless Vehicles could be set to open up the road for the Disabled.

During the Queens speech moves were made to enable trials of Driverless Vehicles on UK roads as part of the new proposals. Driverless Cars could open a wider range of possibilities for the disabled. There are currently people who are unable to drive due to medical conditions such as epilepsy, early stage dementia, or maybe brain injuries who currently would not be allowed to drive. These people could benefit from Driverless Vehicles and they would become mobile again. Even people with physical disabilities, who find driving difficult or impossible could benefit.

Driverless Cars could also change the way that motoring insurance claims are dealt with. At present they rely heavily on evidence from all parties involved, but with this new technology, data can be recorded potentially making claims more accurate and quicker.
